Improving Your Product’s Design with Content Strategy

Content is a critical — though often overlooked — part of the user experience. Whether you have a website, application, or other digital platform, your user relies on its content to guide them. As designers, we spend a lot of time slaying pixels and debating drop shadows, but rarely do we think about spending the same amount of time and effort on our content.

The reality is that users can’t separate your design from its content, and neither should you. Design and content should be created in tandem, influencing and informing one another throughout the process. But what, exactly should that process look like? In this workshop, we’ll walk through several hands-on activities designed to help you understand how to include content in your design process.

What we’ll cover:

  • Why holistic brand expression is important, and how to determine your brand’s voice alongside its visual identity.
  • How content and design specialists can work together.
  • A framework for including content at every stage of design, from sketching to dev hand off.
